Title: Owner / Instructor Current Rank: Godan (5th degree black belt) Teaches: Children, ages 3 and up. As Shuseki-Shihan Oliver's highest ranking female student, and current highest ranking woman in Kenshikai Karate, she has taught karate to both adults and children for many years. Kyoshi Matthew Fremon
Title: Owner / Instructor Current Rank: Karate: Godan (5th degree black belt) Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: 1st degree black belt Teaches: Adults (Karate and BJJ), Children 5 and up. Kyoshi Matthew began his training with the late Shuseki-Shihan William Oliver as a teenager. During his tenure he competed and won numerous tournaments in both point-fighting (sport karate) as well as knockdown karate. These competitions allowed him to travel to places such as Jamaica and Italy. After Shuseki-Shihan's passing, he was asked to continue the UWS Kenshikai branch, which he continues to this day. Senpai Adri Burton
Title: Instructor Current Rank: Karate: Nidan (2nd degree black belt) Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Purple Belt Teaches: Children, ages 3 and up. Karate and BJJ Adri began his karate training as a child under the late Shuseki-Shihan William Oliver. He continued his training as an adult under Kyoshi Matthew Fremon soon after the opening of the Columbus avenue dojo. He has expanded his martial arts studies to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu over the last few years and received his purple belt from Shihan Gene Dunn (Renzo Gracie Black Belt). |
